Below is a partial list of markets although I would have to say up front that at
this point I could not bear the thought of sending one of my goats to slaughter.
We have a very limited number of goats and on our farm they are simply pets.
Our Blackbelly sheep are raised on natural feed without hormones. We attempt
to keep our animals as natural as possible and all of our pastures are pesticide
free.
AMERICAN BLACKBELLY SHEEP:
These sheep produce a lean, fine-grained, and mild meat.
They have hair and wool and SHED their wool in the spring.
There is NO "Mutton" flavor.
Gourmet lamb.
Religious Holiday Lamb Market.
Pets.
Weed control.

LAMB 101:
Lamb is from sheep that are less than 1 year old.
Most are marketed between 6 and 8 months old.
Lamb is generally very tender.
Excellent source of protein, Vitamin B-12, niacin, zinc and iron.
There are generally 5 cuts of lamb.
Cuts include shoulder, rack, shank/breast, loin, and leg.
